Creating a new DITA.xml.org using DITA

The DITA.xml.org web site, under the remit of the OASIS DITA Adoption Committee, has always been a place to learn and discuss about the various aspects of DITA. Recently the Committee decided that they wanted to turn the site into an example of how your DITA can be used not only for delivering content to end users, but to also show how a community-based web site could be created using DITA. To do this they chose to build their new site using Mekon DITAweb ─ a platform for the delivery and collaboration of DITA content. This presentation introduces the audience to the changes that are being planned for DITA.xml.org and explains the various ways in which DITA is being used to help deliver the site.

What can attendees expect to learn?
In this presentation the audience will learn about:

  • the new features that DITA.xml.org will provide
  • how a more community-focused site can be built using DITA
  • how they can help contribute to the site
  • how they can get involved in the new site
  • future planned improvements to the site
