Managing Terminology with DITA
DITA is made for reuse and cross-platform publication and can be easily translated. But there is no best practice about how to control the used terminology in DITA files. This presentation covers how to manage terminology with DITA, how to publish a terminology browser for navigating through the terminology database and how to generate a terminology checker, that automatically searches for deprecated terms in DITA documents and recommends preferred terms.

Stefan Eike is a technical writer, information architect and terminology manager at the software company DAKOSY AG in Hamburg/Germany. He is working on various open-source DITA-OT plugins in the development team DOCTALES and is a contributor of the DITA-OT. Stefan has 8 years of experience in the fields of technical writing, terminology management, information architectures and knowledge management.
