Guiding Authors to Create DITA Content

Most of us when driving in a new location cannot imagine how that will be without being assisted by a modern GPS navigation system. Without doubt a navigation system helps a lot and reduces the stress and fear of unknown as you know all the time where you are and what you are supposed to do to reach your destination. In a similar way, DITA authoring tools and techniques evolved and they can provide a similar experience for authors, make them feel safe knowing where they are and what they need to do to get to the final form of the DITA topics and maps they are creating. We will explore different techniques for guiding authors to create DITA content and provide examples of how these can be implemented.

What can attendees expect to learn?
Similar to a modern navigation system, an authoring system should provide real time feedback trying to keep authors on the right path to complete the documents and to correctly use the available DITA markup. The audience will see an overview of techniques that enable a better authoring experience that, if implemented, will save time or improve the quality of the resulting DITA content.
